Objective: 

This course will enable the students to –

  1. Provide an in-depth study of metal properties.
  2. Provide comprehensive knowledge about metal decoration.
  3. Acquaint students with hallmarking.

The students will–

 

CO11: Examine the properties of metals and their uses in jewellery Industry.

CO12: Learn about precious metals, their mining and care.

CO13: Examine basic jewellery and metal working design vocabulary.

CO14: Learnabout history and various types of metal decoration techniques.

CO15:  Effective use of various metal decoration techniques like filigree, granulation, metal textures, enameling etc. to enhance the design.

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Reading assignments, Demonstration, Team work

Self-learning assignments, Effective questions, Simulation, Seminar presentation, Giving tasks, Field practical
