Objective:

  • Supply chain management in textiles and apparel, Principles and role in branding
  • Evaluation of key issues facing textile and apparel business in global markets considering ethical, economic, political, social and professional implications.
  • Sourcing options considering quality, production capabilities, workers’ rights, investment risk, logistics, legal compliance and trade policies.
  • Overview of marketing process, consumer market trend and analysis.
  • Merchandise concept and planning.
  • Recent advances in retailing and merchandising.

  • Eco friendly production and processing in textile.
  • Wastes from textile and apparel industry: Environmental impact of dyeing, printing and finishes.
  • Introduction of effluent of textile and apparel industry and effluent treatment plants.

  • Development of nano fibre and non-woven; Smart Textures, Medical Textiles; Technical textiles; special textiles for industrial applications, automotive textiles, industrial textiles, agro textiles.
  • Introduction to phase change materials; shape memory materials, chromic materials.

  • Innovation in home textiles.
  • High performance material, enhancing functionality through finishes.
  • Application of nano-fibre on finishes, micro encapsulation, special aesthetic finishes and comfort imparting finishes with references to the application, uses and characteristics.

  • Introduction to concept of CAD/CAM in garment manufacturing.
  • Complete pattern design system, preparation for grading marker and pattern making.
  • Introduction to computer controlled machinery for garment manufacturing, 3D scanning technology, development of Robotic for CAM.
  • Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).
