Objective: 
  1. To provide exposure to students towards various craft and textiles.                        
  2. To develop a professional approach towards hand craftsmanship                             
  3. To enhance the skill of students in designing and product development.
  • Imparting knowledge of the following techniques for sample/ product development:
  • Macrame
  • Knotting
  • Braiding
  • Twining
  • Tasselling
  • Basic kinitting
  • Crocheting
  • Tatting
  • Carpet making
  • Tufting
  • Hook weaving Ribbon weaving
  • Other explorations

 

Exploration, Improvisation and adaptation of the above techniques towards innovative surfaces and forms while using a variety of material like different kinds of yarns, vegetable fibres, threads and ropes, ribbons, braids, trimmings, paper, wires,fabric, acrylics, polythene, self reflecting foils etc.
