Objective: 

To familiarize students with various furnishing fabrics

To develop home furnishing products on current market trends.

 

 

 

Unit I: 
ourse Content

Course Content:

 

Market Survey:                                                                                               20 hrs.

 

Through survey, prepare the scrap book on the following textiles:

 

  • Bath linen- Towels, napkins, bath mats and   shower curtains
  • Draperies & Upholstery
  • Table linen- Table cloths, mats, napkins and runners
  • Bed linen-Bed sheets, bed covers, bolsters, quilts, cushion covers and pillow covers

The survey will include varieties of textiles

 

Design Development                                                                              90 hrs.

 

Prepare at least 4 Design sheets on each category of above mentioned textiles according to the market trend

 

Product Development                                                                            10 hrs.

 

With the help of the theme developed, students are required to develop a line of product on any one category of home furnishing

 

Value addition should be incorporated in the finished product
