Objective: 

v  To impart the knowledge of Gemology   &  the use of various laboratory equipment such as the gemological microscope, dichroscope, polariscope, specific gravity balance, refract meter, ultraviolet light, spectroscope, and other instruments used in gem identification.

 

v  To acquire a thorough knowledge of all precious and semi-precious stones and the ways in which they are used in jewelry.
